Stoppage Time vs Bayern - 4 Murals
In 1999, Manchester United faced Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions
League Final. After 90 minutes, the game
entered stoppage time with United trailing 1-0. At 91’ Teddy Sheringham slid a shot into the left side of the goal to even
the score. Then at 93' Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
redirected the ball into the top right corner to give United the
lead. United won the game 2-1 and the Champions
League title. The last-minute, come-from-behind
victory is one of the most dramatic finishes in UEFA history. United had already won the Premier League and
FA Cup that season, so the UEFA title earned the club a treble in 1999.
This set of 4 murals in 1 celebrates those stoppage time goals. The front shows Sheringham’s goal when
viewed from the left side and his celebration from the right
side. The back shows Solskjaer’s
goal when viewed from the left side and his celebration from the right
side. A counterclockwise lap around the
set shows all 4 events as they unfolded.
