Blacktron Renegade - Microscale

In 1978 the LEGO space crew started on their journey throughout the universe, exploring without opposition or fear, until 1987 changed it all.

'87 saw the introduction of the Blacktron sub-theme, and the brick built universe was never the same.

From 1987-88 Blacktron struck fear into the hearts of Classic space figs everywhere, until the arrival of the Space Police in 1989 slowed their campaign.

Of all the Blacktron vehicles, perhaps the most iconic was set 9654, the Renegade! One of my all time favourite builds, especially when combined with the rest of the Blacktron fleet for interchangeable, modular fun.

This micro-build is my reinterpreted version of the Renegade, and features the asymmetrical design that made the original so iconic, as well as a removable cargo pod with micro buggy inside as a throwback to the great functionality of the Blacktron theme.

Respect the Black & Yellow! They are still out there...waiting for LEGO to release them upon the galaxy again.
