6958: Micro Android Base

Android Base, the second largest set in the Exploriens range, is one of my all-time faves for its simple yet wonderful aesthetic usage of the old Classic Space "Large Quarter Dome" pieces; the door/radar function is easily one of the best functions of all time, right up there with the "punching tank" function of Tremor Track Infiltration (but we'll get to that)

For my microscale version of the set, I've replicated all of the critical functions from the original 1996 set: The flyer vehicle can still carry the fossil tiles *(Fossil designs not included), and they can still be slotted into the decoder on the left hand side. Most importantly, you can push the radar to open up the dome, and the Telescope vehicle still fits inside, even when it's closed up.

Built with Stud.io 2.0 entirely using pieces that are currently in production (with the exception of the curved 3x3 slope at the tops of the quarter domes- these pieces are brand new, and only available in white so far)
