Micro Camouflaged Outpost
The Camouflaged Outpost was one of the first sets I remember receiving as a young child. My father helped me put it together and I must have played with it for hours that day (and many more in the years since!) This set had it all. Loads of foliage! Two secret entrances! A treasure chest! A horse! And six... SIX minifigs!!! (All with hats and colorful plumage!) Plus the whole thing opened up for access to the interior. Endless playability and adventure.
My microscale recreation tries to capture some of my favorite elements and functions from this amazing set. Lots of camouflage to hide the outpost. Two functioning secret entrances. A treasure chest. And the ability of open for access to the interior. The plumage from the hats becomes the red flag topping the outpost at this scale.
The return of the forestmen for the 90th anniversary of LEGO reminded me just how much this one set helped spark a passion for creativity and play that I carry with me to this day.
