Micro 7418: Scorpion Palace
Adventurers is the best LEGO System theme.
Desert/Jungle are pure nostalgia; Dino Island is my favorite because... dinos! And Orient Expedition was.the perfect come back. Instead of repeated concepts, the theme brought forward 3 new locations with their own visual identity.
Scorpion Palace was the most suitable set to represent the return of Johnny Thunder. New treasures, new animals, new traps, inspiring back of the box builds and even a customizable board game linking all the sets. Forcing this micro build in an uneven base (5x15 studs) makes also possible a playable pocket version of said game.
While I am unable to choose only one favorite LEGO set, there is a selection of them I would pick, mostly from the 90s-2000s era. Contextual factors had lead to an unfairly demonization of the designs released during that segment of time. Those products introduced some great concepts, and I am determined to use contest entries like these to provide them the recognition they deserve.
