Orient Expedition: Elephant Caravan

This set has been around in my house forever. One of my elder siblings had it, among several other Adventurer sets, and I always loved the elephant. Recreating it in microscale seemed like a good challenge. This proved true, as I struggled to find a way to incorporate a trunk and tusks together without looking clumsy -- The elephant almost had a paint roller for a nose, and I considered forgoing the tusks completely! As for the car, fortune had it that the 1x1 rounded top piece was invented before LEGO's 90th anniversary; the rest of the car built itself smoothly around it.

Elephant Caravan features Babloo and Pippin Reed outwitting the evil Lord Sam Sinister in order to make their way to the Scorpion Palace. The set belongs to the Orient Expedition line, which is in turn a sub-theme of Adventurers.
