8860 Car Chassis Minifig Drivable (Almost) Full Functions

The car I dreamt of as a child! The LEGO Technic 8860 black car chassis being one of my favourite sets of all times, this just had to be my entry.

It has functional steering, independent swing arm rear suspension, a working flat four cylinder engine in the rear, and of course adjustable sets, to accommodate any specific minifigures body (well, I guess their legs will always be a tad short).

The four pistons are driven by the left right wheel, through a rubber band. Since I didn't manage to create the rubber bands in Stud.io, I added them in a few of the pictures in Paint3D.

The functions are shown in the third picture: orange arrows for the steering through the steering wheel, red for the forward and backward movement of the sets through rotating the gear, blue for the suspension, and green for the pistons.

 

Due to the limited time available, I haven't been able to fully test everything, but I should work, and I'm hoping to finish a real model, with a little finetuning, in due time.
