6949: Robo Guardian

Spyrius was one of the coolest Space subthemes, with unique Minifigure designs, lots of printed pieces, and a striking red, black, and neon green color scheme. The sets always had special play features, like hidden vehicles, magnets, grabber arms, and secret weapons. The set I most enjoyed as a kid was the Robo Guardian. The robot was huge, big enough to house a secret spaceship and a jail. You could also remove the head and have it be its own little spacecraft. The set definitely remained intact longer than any other LEGO set I had as a kid. I never wanted to break it down; it was too unique.
For the microscale version, I tried to evoke the (for the time) elaborate textures and that very specific, dorky-yet-intimidating posture the Robo Guardian had. I also included the special features: a cage for the android, a hidden ship that comes out of the back, the grabber arm, the magnet arm, and the special compartment in the front for storing stolen tech. Thanks for checking out my build!
