Mini Fire House - 6385

I think this was my first big lego set as a kid and made a magical Christmas building the fire station under the Christmas tree. I absolutely loved the sliding garage doors and being able to slide them up and have the fire engines roar out. I was lucky enough to get the 9V Light and Sound engine later on and that really complemented it, as well as the hook and ladder engine.

My model is 16x16 studs (1 quarter the real set which is 32x32). 

A couple of fun details I included in this model - the fire engine base is actually a minifig skateboard in black. The mini-minifigs are actually the new baby minifig in the fire crew colours.

If I had longer to work on this, I would change the garage doors to open using a simple car roof hinge in trans, with a blue stripe, so that you can drive the vehicles out. You can park them in from the back. :)
