5988 Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins Micro Scale
My all time favourite Lego set. No contest.
The set jump started my fascination for archaeology and Egypt in particular and made a 6 year old kid binge documentaries and magazines on the subject like I was a real archaeologist.
I still have the German audiobook cassette that came with the set and the instructions look as ancient and used now as a real papyrus scroll.
I recreated all the original functions and obviously secured the rocks on the trapdoor to make it safe for any adventurers that come to visit.
A spoon serves as a scaled down shovel.
And apparently the jackals like to play golf in style rather than using dangerous weapons to guard the precious ruby.
The balloon is constructed with bar pieces, chains and plates to keep it stable and strong.
A microfigure serves as the skeleton, while stacked round plates represent mummies.
I used the original colour scheme complete with the hieroglyphs on the walls(as a mosaic) that could be done in a print or sticker in an official set.
