MOVING Trench Run Diorama

This scene depicts one of the most famous battles from the original trilogy - The Battle of Yavin, specifically the Meridian Trench Run. This microscale diorama displays a section of the Meridian Trench as Luke Skywalker's X-wing and Vader's Advanced TIE Fighter fly through. You can see a close shot of the two fighters included. The trench features several glowing blue generators and exhaust vents, a radar spire, some turrets shooting at Skywalker's X-Wing, and a crashed X-wing fighter embedded in the Death Star's machinery. Pictures of the trench with the ships removed have been included.

However, the coolest part of this model is the moving function. When a small gear on the side of the model is turned, both the X-wing and the TIE Fighter move about in the air as if they are flying! (see image 4). This is achieved through a simple mechanism inside the base of the diorama, attached to two transparent 'stunt stick' elements supporting the spaceships.
