Sandy Isle Lighthouse
A seaside adventure isn't quite complete without a visit to a lighthouse. While throughout history their purpose has been to protect arriving seafarers, they also provide a picturesque backdrop for any shoreline activity. Lighthouses which are open for tours also offer a challenging climb, a glimpse into the keepers' lives, and amazing views from the top.
This tapering tower stands on a sandy island with scrubby trees around the base. A dock provides access for the keepers or any guests.
