Location: The Watchtower of Amon Sul

This location is from The Fellowship of the ring and also often referred to as Weathertop. Strider, as Aragon is know to the Hobbit's at this stage in the story, takes them there as a refuge on their journey. Thanks to an ill advised campfire though they are discovered. This starts with the creepy emergence of the ring wraiths from the night before a great battle and save by Strider.

This was a fun build to try and create and centred around a 16 sided ring with studs facing inwards. It was quite challenging to create a circular shape with only small gaps between the segments and to also achieve a connection with the terrain underneath. I wanted to create a relatively compact model so that the feel of being perched atop the hill would not be lost.

I provided pictures of the design with Frodo waking up to his companions cooking on the campfire and crying "What are you doing" and also of Strider rushing to the rescue just after Frodo has been stabbed my the Mordor blade.
