Scene: Arwen Rescues Frodo From the Black Riders
This model depicts one of my favorite scenes from ''The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring'', where Arwen, an elven princess, rides out to rescue Frodo, who is being pursued by the terrifying Black Riders.
The scene is filmed in a gorgeous setting in New Zealand, with stunning landscapes and sweeping views of mountains and forests, the beauty of which I've tried to replicate as closely as I could in brick-built form.
As Arwen rides through the forest on her horse, she is chased by the Black Riders, who are on equally sinister steeds. The riders seem to be drawing closer and closer to Arwen and Frodo with each passing moment. Arwen casts a spell to summon a raging river to block the path of the Black Riders, as seen in
the model.
The river is a breathtaking sight, with its cascading waves that are very reminiscent of galloping horses, and powerful currents. In the brick-built scene, the effect of water is achieved with transparent 1 by 1 round bricks.
