Location: Isengard

Black as the night, sharp as it's master mind, Orthanc overhang Isengard. Designed to guard the Gap of Rohan, it ended up menacing the whole western half of Middle-Eart.

I had a lot of fun building it, with various techniques like hinges, SNOT (what a surprise!) and jumpers, notably to reduce the diameter of Orthanc stage after stage.

Obviously the Ring of Isengard is not at scale, but I didn't want to sacrifice details on Orthanc, and building the rest at scale would have been... quite a challenge!

I'm really happy with the smoke made of Technic gear, also for the symbolism of the industrialism of Saruman.
