Scene: Gandalf Duels the Balrog

Gandalf's duel with the balrog atop Durin's Tower was the first thing that came to mind when thinking of a scene from LOTR to translate into Lego, watching the 2 Maiar fight on-screen for the first time was a riveting experience. I did my best to make a Balrog roughly minifigure-scale but still posable and detailed. The ruins are mostly accurate to the movie, there are a few spots I took some liberties with the gemetric Dwarven patterns.

As a display piece, it stand 30.5 cm (12 inches) tall, 33.2 cm (13.1 inches) wide and 25.4 cm (10 inches) deep, and uses around 2400 pieces. The balrog itself is 174 pieces.
