Scene: The Last Combat

'I beheld the last combat on the slopes of Orodruin, where Gil-galad died, and Elendil fell, and Narsil broke beneath him; but Sauron himself was overthrown, and Isildur cut the Ring from his hand with the hilt-shard of his father's sword, and took it for his own.' – Elrond

The Fellowship of the Ring,
Chapter XX, The Council of Elrond

For this challenge I set many constraints for myself. I wanted an iconic scene; I wanted it to feature the One Ring; And, I wanted it to be related to the Rivendell set. Most importantly, I wanted it to look unmistakably like LEGO, and not to take itself too seriously! Minifigures achieve the latter goal perfectly, but they’re small. That’s why I opted to tap into the unexplored potential of the recent buildable LEGO figures, and used them in a larger display. As for the scene, the ‘Last Combat’ between Isildur and Sauron, as recounted by Elrond during his council, seemed like the perfect choice.

I hope you like it! Best of luck to everyone!
