Scene: Gate of Minas Tirith
This model represents the scene from the Return of the King film where Gandalf rallied the soldiers of Gondor at the gate, awaiting its breaking by the enemy. As the battering ram named Grond was hammering on the gate, he shouted: "You are soldiers of Gondor. No matter what comes through that gate, you will stand your ground." After the gate broke, the first to get through it were the great armoured trolls of Mordor.
I built this model because in the previous LOTR and Hobbit line of LEGO sets, Gondor soldiers and buildings were missing. We likewise did not get an armoured troll back then, and so I tried to recreate both as best as I could given the limitations of existing parts.
I believe this would make a great LEGO set as it would give us Gondor soldiers, armoured trolls, Mordor orcs, but also it would capture an iconic moment from the film which to this day is a standout for me.
