Location: Cross Roads of the Fallen King
"Mr Frodo, look! The king has got a crown again."
For my submission I have combined two areas of Middle Earth into one model. These are the tunnel where Frodo and Sam camp at the beginning of Return of the King, and the statue of the King of Gondor by the cross-roads in Ithilien.
The model has 2391 pieces and includes details such as the statue's head on the ground with flowers and the use of a windscreen piece and a triangle road sign in grey to make up rockwork. The tunnel was particularly difficult to make as it uses lots of unusual angles, but I managed to make it fit quite snugly into the side of the wall. I used lots of angular slope pieces for the rocks in contrast to the sloped pieces for the mud texture, and a wide variety of elements for the sideways building.
These are locations that I have rarely seen depicted in Lego form so I was very excited to do something unique for my entry. Good luck to everyone else, your builds are amazing!
