Location: The White Tree of Gondor
The White Tree is one of the most iconic locations of both the Lord of the Rings books, and of the movies. It sits by a beautiful fountain in the courtyard of Minas Tirith, the White City. The White Tree is portrayed on the flag of Gondor, and appears on the flag of Gondor.
It was planted by King Tarondor in 1640 of the third age. However, in 2872 it withered and died, but as a new sapling of the White Tree couldn't be found at that time, the tree, dead but still beautiful, was left in Minas Tirith. When Aragorn Elessar, heir of Isildur, found another sapling of the White Tree in a hollow on the slopes of Mindolluin in 3019, he planted it by the fountain and moved the old tree to a honorable place in the Houses of the Dead.
