Antique Lamp
One of my favorite memories from my childhood was the feeling of wonder and curiosity when walking around my late grandmother's house, looking at all the (from my inexperienced point of view) ancient artifacts that were scattered on every piece of furniture in the house. I was impressed by the small bronze and porcelain figurines that also served as lamps, and illuminated every corner of the house. I especially liked the ones that emulated sculptures from the Roman era, and carried the bulbs like large, heavy torches.
With those feelings in mind I created this sculpture/lamp, which represents a porcelain statue with gold details of a woman holding a large torch topped with a glass flame. Being used to designing buildings and spaceships, doing something more sculptural has been a very interesting experience!
The sculpture measures approximately 36 cm high and has about 1180 pieces in 5 colors: Reddish Brown, White, Very Light Bluish Gray, Satin Trans-Clear and Metallic Gold.
