Indoor Fairy Garden
As a lover of the Botanicals line, and living botanicals too, I was inspired to build a LEGO fairy garden. This set is designed to let builders to arrange the garden as they like, and make changes to the house by arranging the bricks how they want.
I included 11 different plants: flowering jade, blooming echeveria, ice plant, kalanchoe, celosia, dwarf cypress, alpine thrift, creeping thyme, some generic ground cover, and an odd ball-shaped succulent. The arbor has blue flowers meant to invoke the idea of morning glory vines. There is also a bird bath, a small bench for the fairy minifig, and a tile pathway.
I wanted a large, geometric base to balance the busy garden. It's hollow, except for supports. To fit the organic nature of fairy gardens, I put a rotating piece under the fairy house so it wasn't limited to straight lines. I also scattered a variety of studs, some with flowers, in the empty spaces to mimic natural ground. I layered plates under some plants to add dimension.
