Timbuk II
Mansa Musa was the King of the country of Mali during the early 1300s, and many have calculated that his net worth is about $400 Billion USD nowadays. Mansa Musa was well known for his generosity in Mali cities, such as Timbuktu. He donated millions in gold to improve schools, libraries, and housing.
But I wondered, what would Timbuktu look like if futuristic technology was available during Mansa Musa's reign? With the main goal of improving the life of those around him, I would assume magnificent wonders! And with that, I bring you Timbuk-II, in an alternate universe, where technologies were far more advanced in the 1300s, the people of Mali created a colossal technology city, a hub of education, culture, and creativity. A statue of Mansa Musa stands tall in the center square, behind him lies the expanse of the city, far in the distance. The buildings are outfitted with state of the art electronics, with solar panels to power them. And of course, a robot camel.
