Pawn Power

I love Legos and I love chess. My design brings together these interests to showcase how much chess has evolved as an e-sport especially over the last few years. To me, the seemingly humble but always classic Lego brick is at the heart of every design idea just as the seemingly powerless pawn can make or break chess strategies - unique in its trajectory on a chess board, marching only forward, sometimes to become the all powerful queen. To me, the Lego brick in its simplicity and versatility embodies the same characteristics. As the world went into lockdown in 2020, many of us turned to e-sports such as chess. I think that this design really shows how chess has evolved since the 7th century in India, from caliphs to streamers.
