The Queen

I'll be the first to admit that chess confuses me, and I have absolutely no idea how it's played. That said, I have a great amount of admiration for the sport and those that know how to play it, so I wanted to make a LEGO sculpture in honor of that. 

I quickly realized that I wanted to show both sides of the board with this build, which led to the double-sided aspect of my model. While the pictures don't show it, there's an axle in the middle of the set that allows the middle piece to spin around, showing both sides. And the chess board patterned panel can be put on either side if one would rather just showcase one piece over the other. The program I used to construct this tells me it is comprised of 507 parts.
