Dohyō (Sumo Ring)
Sumo wrestling is Japan's national sport, so I decided to make a traditional sumo ring out of Lego, as a tribute to Japanese sports!
The proper name for the ring is Dohyō, which means, "the ring within which sumo wrestling takes place." I tried to make it as accurate as possible to the real thing, especially with the white circle in the middle of the ring, which is made out of white shaft pieces. It was a bit of a challenge to get them to seem like they are part of the Dohyō's floor, but I think I pulled it off pretty well!
I also wanted the sumo wrestlers to be the right size in proportion to the Dohyō ring, so I had to make them microfigures instead of minifigures.
Thank you for viewing this project, I can't wait to see how it does in the competition!
