9¾, Illusion or Magic?
Welcome AFOLs
There are 3 illusions
The impossible cube seen by Muggles
The magically possible cube seen by wizards
The checkered pattern creating the illusion of a sphere refers to King’s Cross as well as wizarding chess
Other details
From a magical angle the gateway is closer to platform 10, hence 9¾
There is an angle at which the pillars of the gateway seem to be touching simultaneously because of their magical entanglement
Harry makes an angle of 9,75 degrees which also removes parts of it sticking out over the checkered pattern
The clock is at 10:53 because in PS Harry reaches 9¾ at that time
The face of the incomplete cube Ron stays in is a symmetry, which is obtained by rotating the face where Harry is placed around the gateway by 180 degrees clockwise. Because in PS he turns this way after going through the wall
The clock dial and hands blend in perfectly with the number two
Lastly, 750 pieces are included which is ¾ of the maximum quantity allowed for rendering
With gratitude
