Professor Trelawney's Teacup

Professor Trelawney in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban By J.K. Rowling asks her students to divide into pairs, collect a teacup from the shelf and come to her and then she fills it. Then she asks them to sit down and drink it until only the dregs remain. Then she advises them to swill these around the cup three times with the left hand, then turn the cup upside down on its saucer, wait for the last of the tea to drain away and then give the cup to the partner to read.
