The Leaky Cauldron
"'This is it,' said Hagrid, coming to a halt, 'the Leaky Cauldron. It's a famous place.' It was a tiny, grubby looking pub. If Hagrid hadn't pointed it out, Harry wouldn't have noticed it was there. The people hurrying by didn't glance at it. Their eyes slid from the big book shop on one side to the record shop on the other as if they didn't see the Leaky Cauldron at all."
This model is based on actual book and record stores in London, with the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron (Number 20 Charing Cross Road) tucked inconspicuously in-between. The ground floor of the pub features a roomy table and bar. The wall in the adjoining courtyard opens at the touch of a wand to reveal the bustling Diagon Alley beyond. Upstairs is the room where Harry stayed, complete with a cozy fire and a patient Hedwig.
