Cooler Car
Lego Creator's Cool Cars 3-in-1 set (4939) was my first ever Lego set, so this set is quite special and nostalgic for me. While initially disappointed to find out I'd have to build the car first before playing with it, I soon discovered I love building Lego sets as much as I love cars.
For this 248-piece build, I modernized the cover car of the set and added a key new feature. For the color, I added a black stripe over the center of the car to complement the yellow paint. For the shape, I've replaced several wedges and slopes with newer rounded pieces for a modern feel, including the thin front headlights to keep the car sleek. I also updated the mirrors and windows to match the modern style.
The new feature is the front wheel-base. The original could only drive straight. Here, I've mounted the wheels to a base that's attached to a turntable that is then connected to the rest of the chassis from above. With this, the car can actually turn and truly live up to its original box art.
