Mini Modular Depot

I think my first LEGO memory is building the Tyre Depot from the Activity Set 911.

Here I’ve recreated it in mini modular form. I wondered about updating the architecture or perhaps giving Heartlake City some heavy industry, but instead I decided to stick with a 1970’s feel.

I had to work to reduce the part count to squeeze into 250, but at least we have the little guy in red sitting in the lorry’s trailer, just as in the original photo of set 911, and it has a fully functioning crane!

The set had instructions for alternative builds, rather like a 3-in-1 set today, and this should be possible here also. I’ve not had time to create the ship and crane or helicopter from the same parts. But I’m sure it can be done!

I certainly enjoyed building this and recreating some happy memories.
