Microscale Black Seas Barracuda Pirate Ship & Eldorado Fortress From 1989

The year was 1989, I was a young primary school student when I first saw the Black Seas Barracuda Pirate Ship (set 6285-1) in my local shop. At the time, my parents couldn’t afford to buy it for my brother and I, so I began washing cars, doing chores and saving like crazy.

12 months later, we got it. I still have it on display 35 years later! It was one of the best childhood experiences of my life and began a lifelong passion for LEGO. Shortly after, we got my second favourite set of all time, the Eldorado Fortress (set 6276).

This project entry is a combined microscale version of both iconic sets from the Pirate 80’s-90’s.

I used modern parts and designed it to sit flush against a wall / desk or display cabinet.

The background artworks are original, I created specifically for this project as a homage to the old art from the 80's-90's pirate LEGO box art using Procreate, Keynote and a couple of other programs to help bring back some memories :)

I hope this brings some nostalgia to you too!
