Baron Von Barron's Island Racer
Lego 5920 Island Racer (released in 2000) is one of the very earliest sets I can recall having owned, and an iconic vehicle within the Adventurers line. Although my memories of the assembled set are vague, I loved the vehicle parts and minifigure of Baron Von Barron, and used them in many of my own childhood builds over the years.
My reinterpretation of 5920 uses modern parts and building techniques. I drew inspiration from both the original set and real 1920s cars. I have maintained classic features like the long hood, red coloring, exposed engine detailing, and running boards. Added elements include a fog light, squeeze bulb horn, external gas tank, (decorative) springs, and a spare wheel!
Also included is a recreation of another set from the Dino Island subtheme: 5914 Baby T-Rex Trap. This new version has a feature to capture the baby dinosaur for study by pulling down the rod propping the trap open.
