Dark Shark's Shipwreck Shanty
LEGO introduced the 80s Pirates, Shipwreck Island was the first set I got. Despite the small size, I spent hours building it different ways and imaging I was there. When I saw this challenge, creating a build based on Shipwreck Island was a no brainer!
My build retains the elements of the original with a full redesign. The treasure hide is now a cave and the canon shade also doubles as the lower portion of his shanty. The animals and artifacts complete the nostalgic elements.
Dark Shark felt it was time to set sail from Capt Red Beard's crew in Barracuda Bay so he grabbed a tub and an oar and rowed over to a small rocky island he had seen through his spy glass. Being full of ingenuity, he floated some supplies from the Barracuda wreck over to his new home, quickly building a shelter and some defenses. Having befriended the island's native animals, he felt right at home in his new abode.
Clearly from the other great entries, this is such a hugely inspiartional set. Thanks for looking!
