Modern Monorail
The 6399 Airport Shuttle featured in countless happy memories of my childhood summers - as soon as I showed my family this design, they immediately knew the inspiration. I spent hours unlocking my imagination around the beloved transit loop, creating stories for riders, destinations, and supporting infrastructure. While there are only 3 official monorail Lego sets, monorails are an iconic form of transit. Modern versions often feature maglev engineering, so I upgraded the classic 6399 into a high-speed bullet shape and elevated its color scheme to match. The train and its track comprise a working monorail, with hidden wheels underneath to support the train and removable stabilizers on the sides. Detachable end caps allow the train to be rolled off the monorail I-beam, and the train can be played with as a regular trolley once the lateral stabilizers are removed. A conductor, detachable roof for easy access, passenger seats, and electricity warning panels make for hours of fun.
