ATV and Advanced Outpost Module

"Outpost 1 ... this is ATV Operator. Ready for docking sequence!"

This set was a Christmas present in the 80s and still gives me a warm, cozy feeling every time I see it.

And after more than 40 years, I thought it was time to replace the aging outpost. So I designed the new ATV to be compatible with the original outpost. At the same time, the new space module is compatible with the current space series and can be connected to the modular space station, for example. Inside there are modern instruments in the form of printed tiles and a transparent control console.

The ATV is equipped with modern airless wheels and small, powerful rocket engines that can be swiveled to the side to accommodate the space module. I have also installed a small locking mechanism to prevent them from opening again so easily under load. The construction of the lower windshield would have been simpler if there had been a transparent, inverted version of the upper half, but it also works this way.
