Ghostly Wolf Hideout
Castle was always my favourite theme as a child so I decided to pay homage to 1596 Ghostly Hideout.
Obviously the key elements I started with are the cave and the arc of the tree moving across to evoke the original as well as having a single character and a 'ghost', and a stone parrot of course.
To expand I added a ruined burnt out tower on top with the lone outlaw plotting his escapades and using the derelict shell as a lookout while resting in the cave.
I tried to give the impression of the presence of absence / long abandonment by getting the tree to puncture and grow through it in several places, while also being a key structural support for the tower. The rocky staircase winds round the building to convey but also as a contentious point that is easily accessible for action to take place on. The back needed something interesting and I like building off at an angle so added a bartizan jutting out from the corner. Oh and the tree is solid by the way, can't stand flimsy trees.
Go castle!
