Space Driller Vehicle
In space exploration, equipment also becomes obsolete. Some of the old vehicles are recycled or even modernized to suit the up-to-date requirements of planetary colonization.
One of these cases was the four-decade old vehicle known as Mobile Lab. Once the surface studies have concluded there’s no more use for the unit. However, there are new tasks for stablishing or finding new extraction sites for the underground mines on the planet.
The rover was upgraded by replacing the front shovel arm for a large cone diamond drill unit. Also, the suspension was updated installing lifter arms to raise and lower the vehicle when needed. The outer chassis of the rover was reinforced to sustain the heavy-duty work on mines.
Now the vehicle has a new look, updated systems and new tasks to continue serving the exploration force.
