Ambush at the Forest Castle

One day when my mom was picking me up from elementary school, I remember her surprising me with a Lego set right after I told her just how bad of a day I had. It was the Castle Ambush Set and it was the perfect thing to turn my day around. To this day I don't remember what made that day so bad because those memories were replaced with all the fun times I had growing up with that set and the other medieval sets that came up along the way.

I still had all of the pieces for the set and I wanted to focus on its favorite play feature for me: the axe knight chopping down the apple tree to stop the lion knights in their tracks. I did this by upgrading the dragon knights' outpost into a weathered castle in the forest where the axe knight, now trained in axe handling after all this time, chops down the now fully grown apple tree while hurling throwing axes down at the surprised lion knights.

I hope that this becomes a real set to thank my mom for all the things she has done for me big and small.
