Ice Planet Ice-Sat v - 6898
When I first read about this challenge, the Ice-Sat V of 1993 was the first set to come to mind. As a child, I loved this set due to it being two vehicles in one, with lots of functionality and playability in a relatively small set (by today's standards). To me, the colour scheme is iconic, and those trans-neon-orange parts are highly associated with the Ice Planet series.
The reimagining of this set includes parts that were not available when the original was released, and I have introduced a new element - the drone - to incorporate advances in extra-planetary exploration we have seen in reality. I have updated the rocket to depict a futuristic look, and I have attempted to give the transport vehicle a design that is both robust and sleek. I also included a portable launch base so that the transport can move away for launches.
I am hoping that by giving this set a little bit of a rework, the next generation of kids will be exposed to the same wonderment that I had when I was young.
