Street Guard
Well, it's my first build since I was young. I remember owning, among other sets, the original Police 4x4 (6533-1), and this is my attempt at updating it to a more "futuristic" setting and making it more of a buggy-type vehicle - mostly because it looks pretty cool :)
Because I grew up in the '90s, I have a fondness for some of the parts that were prevalent then - such as the 3x2x6 panel used for the windshield, and the 8x2 bracket that makes up the chassis of the police vehicle.
Regarding the vehicle itself, I wanted to retain the little accessories; the traffic cones and warning sign, albeit updated. The accessories can be stored at the backside of the buggy, as in the original.
I considered making a trailer for the buggy, but opted for the little sidewalk scenery instead, to introduce some more color and liveliness to the set. The parking meter also helps set the stage for the police car's involvement in traffic related law enforcement.
