Tunnelator X-93
Transparent orange chainsaw...!
Like many kids of the late 80s and early 90s, our LEGO dreams were made of wedge plates, jet engines and trans-neon everything!
6814 Ice Tunnelator from 1993 was my gateway to Ice Planet 2002 and the rest of the LEGO Space catalogue (most of which still remains only a dream...) and also to what I later found out was the great and enduring legacy of Jørn Thomsen (1956-2023).
This model is an upscaled and modernised interpretation of the classic set, with added play features
- three independently articulating blades up front for clearing cut ice and snow,
- a compartment in the rear for collecting crystal samples; and,
- articulated transparent orange chainsaw with additional controls for even more ice crunching research mayhem!
I've done my best within the currently available parts to replicate the minifig - I hope that if this is chosen that more can be added.
Thank you for checking out the Tunnelator X-93
