Monorail Bookends

In the 80s there were some LEGO sets that were real icons, objects of desire for millions of children around the world, one of these was definitely the Futuron Monorail 6990.

With this set I wanted to pay homage to this iconic set by creating a revisited version in a modern key, in the form of a bookend with the train coming out of an imaginative portal from who knows what fantastic adventure.

I wanted to create a set that recalls the original design, using modern construction techniques such as SNOT, or modern pieces such as curved slopes, while integrating vintage elements that evoke nostalgia in the viewer, such as the yellow and blue Spacemen, with their oxygen tanks and their simple and friendly faces.

I think this set would appeal to all lovers of vintage and nostalgia for the glories of the past, also since it can be used as a bookend, it would be a fantastic ornament always in sight.

The set consists of only 250 pieces, the count also includes the minifigures.
