The Black Dragon Reawakens!

The very first LEGO dragons were iconic, and imprinted the childhood memories of many AFOLs.

My favorite dragon has always been the black Draco, so I wanted to have a way to honor the set where both Basil the Bat Lord and Draco the black dragon were introduced: LEGO Castle Fright Knights Set 6007 Bat Lord. I believe this small box that would perfectly fit as a future gift-with-purchase!

For this build I used modern parts but also flavored the dragon's design with my own building techniques, in particular for the front legs and the head, with red eyes apparent though the beast's brow. The dragon is fully articulated, serving as a steed for Basil and can of course breathe fire! As a final touch I gave Basil a staff that also serves as fiery bat emblem, so everyone in the Castle Realm knows who's back to promise a frightening time!
