Kilo Core Demagnetizer
Is M-TRON 6989 the pinnacle of LEGO Space? At least I think so! From its playability—functional Steering, magnetic crane, and more—to its appearance—rotating a quarter dome by 45° and placing it horizontally to create the largest and most iconic windscreen in LEGO history—it was an incredible feat of creativity given the parts and building techniques available at the time. Even 35 years later, it still feels timeless.
However, with the discontinuation of parts 73092 magnet, 2409 panel, 2426+2428 rack, and 2573 giant hard plastic wheel, it’s no longer possible to recreate Mega Core Magnetizer. But maybe we can scale it down—so here comes the Kilo Core Demagnetizer! In this tribute to Jørn Thomsen, I tried to preserve as much of the original play features as possible, and revised many times to use less parts . I hope this smaller version space vehicle can carry on the M-TRON legacy for another 30 years, and maybe even become the most sought-after GWP on the shelf!
