Mask of the Lost Island
Far beyond the known island chains, where the sea swallows compasses and even the Gukko birds refuse to fly, there lies a forgotten speck of land. No larger than a Nui-Rama hive, it rises like a shard of red rock from the deep.
At its center, jutting from the earth like a sentinel frozen in time, stands a single colossal Mask of Hau. Weathered by centuries of wind and salt, its crimson stone glows faintly beneath the moonlight. The islanders, long gone or perhaps never truly there, left no other trace no huts, no tools. Only the mask, staring eastward, always eastward.
Toa legends speak of a place called Akamu "The Lone Guardian." It was said to be a final exile for a powerful Toa who disobeyed the Great Spirit, choosing to protect a hidden truth rather than join the war. He poured his essence into the mask, anchoring his spirit to the island.
Some say on stormy nights, lightning reveals the mask’s eyes glowing dimly… watching. Waiting.
