The Journey of Mata Nui

Banished to outer space, the Great Spirit Mata Nui finds himself streaking through the stars, encapsulated inside the Mask of Life. The Evil Makuta has taken over the Matoran Universe, and an era of dark order is looming over it's inhabitants.

After crashing into the deserted planet Bara Magna, the mask uses it's power to bring Mata Nui's entity to the physical world. Accompanied by Click, the Scarabax, he begins a race against time to get back home and stop the Master of Shadows, once and for all!

The Bionicle Saga was truly an epic saga that brought memorable Lego sets to our childhoods for over a decade. To celebrate it's incoming 25th anniversary, i decided to recreate Mata Nui himself in his Toa form, from 2009, along with his Scarabax companion. This build attempts to keep the Technic look of the original Bionicle sets using standard parts and joints; maintaining stability, structural integrity, and improving both poseability and proportions.
