Battle for Mata Nui: Takanuva vs Makuta Teridax
Gathered friends... Listen again to our legend... of the BIONICLE
This build recreates characters from two sets, 8596 Takanuva and 8593 Makuta, that were featured in the film Bionicle: Mask of Light. I tried to recreate the box art poses of the characters then show off their articulation in the additional photos.
I wanted to stay as accurate to the figures while adding additional articulation where possible. Takanuva has added shoulder, elbow, and knee joints, with ankle tilt achieved with a plate 1x1x2/3 w/ knob piece. The rounded back allows rotation to get the feet to stand flat without the space required for a ball joint. He also has waist rotation and can look up without removing his head!
Makuta has shrug and butterfly joints and knees that were not present in the original figure. He uses a hook with ball piece both improve ankle mobility and at the claw on Makuta's heel. Makuta's claws use the same piece as Takanuva's mask, just like the original set.
Thanks for taking a look!
