Aquazone Cargo Sub Mk II
My favorite Lego theme from childhood is Aquazone — especially the brave Aquanauts. These deep-sea explorers captured my imagination with their colorful subs, mysterious underwater bases, and glowing energy crystals. The yellow color scheme with trans-orange and dark blue screamed "classic LEGO" like nothing else.
For this challenge, I chose to recreate a sub that was not the largest or fastest, but instead the most reliable one — the Cargo Sub from the Neptune Research Lab set (6195). For me, this sub always felt like the backbone of my base.
My updated version keeps the spirit of the original while modernizing some of the functions and shapes. The submarine still features a large cargo space, a grabber arm, a container for energy crystals, and even side compartments for accessories and a back ramp for yet another secure compartment.
This build is my tribute to the underwater adventures I dreamed about as a kid —and to the set that started it all for me. Let's dive for more adventures!
