Bionicle X Chima

To celebrate Bionicle and create a mashup with another theme, I combined the 2013 Laval figure with a number of Bionicle parts.

I wanted to incorporate iconic Bionicle elements along with some of my favorite parts from those sets. Many pieces from over the years were used. One memorable feature of Bionicle that set it apart from other lines was the packaging the sets came in. I utilized the lid of a Bionicle canister in Laval’s shield to include that detail.

I was also interested in creating a model that mixed Bionicle with another theme. I thought that the large Chima figures would be a great opportunity. I chose Laval because he is the most recognizable character from that theme, and he inspired the color scheme of the rest of the build.

I enjoyed getting to combine two different themes for this Bionicle celebration!
